- Mr. Ellwood- Quote from Lorax- caring about trees/stumps irreversible damage to trees and surrounding view. Expresses concern that no community involvement was had in the decision to take down trees and plant new trees, the city should have informed the school of removal and school should have had say in what was taken down and what they were replaced with. The community should have been given a say and have a voice. Teachers may speak out, but not on behalf of the school.
- Elaine Wilcox- There is a statement that claims the community has a voice, and the city is encouraging us to speak out. We must speak out on our OWN behalf, and that is essential. City claimed trees were sick and needed to be removed. No evidence exists to prove this.
- If we want to join the cause to protect the wilson community trees you may join the facebook page… TBA
- Joyce- Too many trees are being cut down without community approval, over 300k in tree removal already has happened, more slated to be removal
-
Kirk- SLC small neighborhood, trees like ours, they have sidewalks
- there must be a give and take, the city must get permission, and replant like trees.
