USBE Training

• SITLA - takes care of the land through development and usage.
• SITFO - make sure that the land continues to make money for the kids.
• The fund currently has $3 billion.
• A committee also invest this money to make sure it grows.
• Last year $98 million was dispersed among the schools.
  1. Involve families in education
  2. Make sure children achieve educational goals
  3. Spend money to help assist the achievement of these goals.

Breakout Session

• Lots of people interested in what is going on in the schools. Money is spent on aides and technology.
• School Land Trust is money that is allocated to the school and tied to academic goals, money that is appropriated for schools to spend.
• TSSP money is given to the districts for the principals and the district to decide how that money will be used.

Required of all School Land Trust Committees

Council members and contact information. Proposed meeting schedule, Approved Council Meeting minutes, Teacher and Student Success Plan, Invitations for parents who want to serve.
